 Top 10 best universities in the world for health education

The UK's Oxford University ranks first in the world for health and clinical studies, and China has one in the top 10, according to THE ranking.


By topping the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) rankings in the health and clinical fields, the University of Oxford has held the position 11 times in a row. Right behind are Harvard University of the US, Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge of the United Kingdom.


Medicine is a major field of study at the University of Oxford. This major is divided into 16 smaller departments such as Biochemistry, Experimental Psychology, Pharmacology, Anatomy, Obstetrics and Gynecology... Tuition fees for medicine and health are also among the highest in the country. University of Oxford, around £48,000 a year for international students, according to the university's website.


The UK has another university in the top 10, which is UCL (8th), while the US has 3 more representatives outside of Harvard, including Stanford University (6th), John Hopkins and Yale (joint 9th).


China has one university in the top 10, Tsinghua University. This higher education institution has jumped from 32nd place last year to 7th this year, helping China enter the top 10 for the first time. The other institution on the list is the University of Toronto's own. Canada, ranked 5th.

The number of students, the number of students per faculty, the ratio of international students and the ratio of women to men of the top 10 schools are shown in the table below:


THE World University Rankings is a poll of colleges and universities globally by Times Higher Education (UK). Together with the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), THE is considered one of the world's leading prestigious university rankings.


THE started implementing THE-QS World University Rankings in 2004, in cooperation with QS. Since 2010, THE ceased to cooperate with QS and created a new university ranking, in partnership with data provider Thomson Reuters.


THE ranks schools in the health and clinical fields based on smaller disciplines such as medicine and dentistry as well as other health disciplines.


Similar to the world university rankings, schools are ranked based on 13 separate indicators, divided into 5 groups. In which, the group of criteria on teaching (learning environment) has a weight of 27.5%; research (volume, income, reputation) 27.5%; scientific citations (research influence) 35%; international outlook (of staff, students and research) 7.5% and industry earnings (knowledge transfer) 2.5%.


Vietnam has Duy Tan University ranked in this area, standing in the group of 176-200 out of 925 participating universities.
